Project 365 (#49 - #55)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday ~ #49/365

A sunny Sunday afternoon and a tire swing powered by your Daddy - these are the things that memories are made of.
Monday ~ #50/365

We do a lot of Brain Quest questions at dinner time when we can all sit down and eat as a family. The kids like it so much they remind me when I forget. We are nearly done with our second time through this set, so I think it might be time to find a new one.

Tuesday ~ #51/365

Bethany's team actually got to play their regularly scheduled game even though it rained on and off all day long. She played decently well, though she did try to dispute one umpire's call. Okay she really didn't dispute it, but since her coach from last year happened to be the Base Umpire and she hit a ball directly down the first base line giving the first baseman (first basegirl?) an easy out against her, she was none too happy when he called her out. She cocked her head to the side and then turned on her heal and stomped in a feigned huff (with a smile on her face) to her dug out. After the inning I asked the coach if she had given him an "evil eye" and he said boy did she and scolded him too saying, "Coach Brandon!" before she stomped away!

Wednesday ~ #52/365

Somebody finally decided his hair was getting too long and hot for the warmer weather and wanted his favorite haircut back. I did not realize how much hair this boy really had and told him I will never mohawk it again when his hair is that long, because it was way harder to do than ever before. (Ya know, cuz' I'm not really a barber, even though I can pretend to be :)
His game also got rained out again :(

Thursday ~ #53/365

Sunshine all day long meant Elisha's team played their make-up game from last weeks rain out. No one could remember who the scorekeeper was supposed to be so I went ahead and did it and boy was I glad I did. I didn't dress warm enough and the wind was a blowin', so I huddled in the corner of the scorekeeper box to get out of the wind. Then about ten minutes into the game a passing rain cloud decided it would dump on us sending all the teams into the dug out for about 20 minutes before starting up again. I would have been one soaked Mama had I not been in there (because not only does the scorekeeper box have the best view, it also has a roof)!

Friday ~ #54/365

Another game for Bethany, this one was a re-scheduled game from a rain-out last week. Look at all those pink helmets and bats!

Saturday ~ #55/365

Elisha hit a ball into center field getting a single and an RBI (see the ball flying high in the left corner of the picture?).

Well that's it for my week how about yours? This fun little glimpse of my life and others is a project started by Sara. You can check out other 365 projects or start your own just by visiting her blog.

Project 365 (#42 - #48)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday ~ #42/365

These were my grandma's favorite candies and we found them a few weeks ago at Sam's Club. I kept meaning to take a picture for this project and decided I had better do it before they were all gone. Just eating them brings back memories of when I was a kid spending time at my grandma's house.

Monday ~ #43/365

Elisha's allergies were acting up big time. He was supposed to have practice but his left eye was itchy, red and swollen halfway shut so we skipped it.

Tuesday ~ #44/365

Bethany helped me make dinner. It included one of her favorites - macaroni and cheese!

Wednesday ~ #45/365

Raining, raining, raining... It rained here Tuesday and Wednesday and cleared up on Thursday. This week it's supposed to rain again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and is wreaking havoc on the kid's ball schedules.

Thursday ~ #46/365

Bethany finds a critter with a missing back leg while playing with the siblings from Elisha's team mates. She always finds the critters.

Friday ~ #47/365

Bethany's team getting ready to do their 2, 4, 6, 8 cheer at the end of Friday's game. Another parent took a picture like this for Elisha's team in his first year of Pee Wee baseball (3 years ago) and I've always wanted to do it for Bethany's team. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to get this picture. Bethany's hand is the one on top with the orange and black nail polish in case you were wondering!

Saturday ~ #48/365

This is Yohn keeping score for Bethany's team. Another busy day at the ball fields, but for this season in life, we wouldn't have it any other way!

There you have it, my week in photos (and no, I did not intentionally post three different pictures with Bethany's hands, it just turned out that way somehow). What have you been up to? You can join in on Sara's blog and show us what you've been doing too.

Got a CVS Nearby?

If you have a CVS with a photo department nearby you can get a free photo magnet. Go to here to create your magnet and then enter the code FREE4MOM at the checkout. I just ordered mine and thought I'd share with you. It's completely free as long as you pick it up in the store. Make sure to order it before April 28th. Enjoy!

I Heart Faces - Photo Collage

Since Baseball/Softball is keeping us very busy around here lately, I thought I'd do a collage for my two kids. They've had a great season so far, but if it would just quit raining us out it'd be so much better!

Project 365 (#35 - #41)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday ~ 35/365

We came from church Sunday afternoon to find our hot water heater erupting (literally!) all over the back room. We had to scramble to turn off the water to the house because we did not know what else to do.

Monday ~ 36/365

A new hot water heater was installed and all was right with the world again!

Tuesday ~ 37/365

Due to the rain on Sunday and Monday we still had puddles and mud and so the kids' games were both cancelled this week. That means we will be very busy when they get re-scheduled.

Wednesday ~ 38/365

Elisha colored this on Sunday but I just realized today that he gave Jesus a "Jesus Rocks" shirt and thought it was pretty funny!

Thursday ~ 39/365

My mom and dad came from Oregon for a short visit because they were coming in the area anyway (well if you count business a few hours away another area!). Bethany got to show off her reading skills while doing her homework with Grandma Judy.

Friday ~ 40/365

We visited the Marina and flew kites again. The wind was perfect and there was even another guy there flying his kite who gave us some pointers. This is a picture of my mom and Elisha trying out his advice.

Saturday ~ 41/365

Elisha slides while stealing 3rd base. This was the first game my mom and dad have ever seen him play and he did well. Bethany also had a chance at third and got another girl out while playing that base. I had the misfortune of missing it because I had to scorekeep at Elisha's game but Grandma and Grandpa did not miss it!

My kids loved having their grandparents at the game and hope they can come again next year.

Well there you have it, another week gone flyin' by. Wanna join in the fun? Visit Sara's blog to see what others have been doing with this project.

Free Stuff Tomorrow

Gotta Starbucks nearby? How about a Cinnbon?

Tomorrow, April 15th, Starbucks is giving away free coffee to anyone who comes in with a re-usable travel mug. The point is to get people to help use less paper products.

And Cinnabon is giving away free cupcakes to each customer for a "tax break" treat.

No, I'm not being compensated to promote this but because I love ya'll so much I thought I'd share. Just make sure you call and make sure your local shops are actually participating so I don't embarass you if for some reason they have chosen not to, okay?
