We are a busy family who juggle work, ministry, and our family on a regular basis, but God gives us the strength. Our desire is to serve the Lord with all our hearts and see our children grow up with a close relationship with Him. Our two children Elisha (12) and Bethany (11) keep us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Here's that picture from the last post that was missing. Just me and the kids having fun in the water.
On our last full day we went to see a friend. This is a pic of the kids playing Davy Crocket and Daniel Boone. They have captured the Indian Princess.
They also did a little face painting. :)
Grrr... Blogger has been incredibly frustrating this entire post. There, now that I have ranted, on with the pictures.
Elisha and Bethany cozied together on our last morning.
On the way through Idaho we saw signs warning us of fires. Traveling on Highway 95 brought us through miles and miles of this. It's kinda hard to see in the picture but both sides of the road have been burned as well as the mountains in the distance. For at least an hour we traveled through areas that were completely black.
Bethany says goodbye to the Kia Soul we rented for our journey. She loved this car!
During our Oregon vacation we visited some of Yohn's family.
Played at the park,
and spent some time with Yohn's dad.
On a hot day we headed to the river and I caught this little water snake. Bethany proclaimed she "had" to hold it and nearly got bit in the process. Then I think she squeezed the poor thing's neck waaaayyyy too hard and I questioned my own crazy parenting at that moment. But she came through unscathed and the snake swam away seemingly fine, so all was well. Although next time I think I'll just watch it swim around instead.
This is not the same river as in the previous post. Most of this little river is only knee deep where we were at, but still deep enough for us to tube down a small part of it over and over again. The kids had a blast, the water was warm and not too cold, and we had a lot of fun together.
I just realized there is another picture that was supposed to go here, but oh well I guess. Maybe next time.
Crazy hair fun! He requested I post this on the blog. :0)
Part of our typical summer vacation includes a ride in Grandpa's boat and a trip to the Snake River. This day was a hot one!
In the 100's with not a lot of shade meant we spent some time in the water.
My mom and dad and cousins still took the time to fish and the kids joined in for quite a bit, but when the fish stopped biting we moved on to this:
Leaping off the rocks into the water. Unfortunately the water was a bit shallow for Yohn and I but the kids had a blast anyways. And yes, I did jump too, but Yohn was too wet to use the camera to get a picture of me!
At the end of the day we came home to this, a huge windstorm that blew grass from the fields onto the power line, knocking out the electricity. Just as quickly as it came it left. Then we played the waiting game for the power. If memory serves me correctly we bbq'd dinner and when the lights finally came back on, it was almost time for bed.
