Valentine's Day 2011

This year's story actually begins on Friday. The kids had no school on Monday due to a teacher's in-service so at school they had their Valentine's party on Friday.

Last year we brought special treats to the kids' classroom. They loved it so much then that we decided to do it again this year.

Bethany is definitely a flower girl, she loves getting roses from her daddy. She likes to water plants and watch them grow so this year we got her a potted rose. I hope we can keep it alive. I'm terrible about that.

Then on Monday, I did a mini photo shoot with Harmony whose birthday happens to be February 14th.

She was due after Elisha, whose birthday is just around the corner, but she just had to be born first.

In a lot of way her and Elisha have grown up together, even though there were a few years when they didn't live nearby. Happy Birthday Harmony Joy! May you be blessed and loved all of your life!

Then later we were off to Build a Bear where Teddy and Princess were going to get to pick out some new clothes. Can you tell they were excited?

Outside of Build a Bear...

...where the bear would get "baths", ...

...and try on some new clothes.

Elisha and Teddy decided on new jeans, shoes, t-shirt and a zip hoody. Oh and he got new boxers too, but I didn't think it would be appropriate to show him off in those :)

Bethany and Princess decided on new shoes, dress, necklace and headband. Princess also got roller skates.

After we visited Build a Bear we took pictures, by the fountain across the street,

and smelled the flowers,

and danced around (okay only Bethany danced around),

and acted cool,

and taught Princess to skate,

while Teddy jumped around.

Afterwards we made the last second decision to go to the Spaghetti factory where I had garlic Mizithra (Mmmmm....) and Yohn had Lasagna and the kids had grilled cheese sandwiches. We had fun playing tic tac toe while we waited for our food. Elisha played with the little two year old boy at the table next to us who kept talking to him. Then we visited half price books and came home with used DVD's instead of books.

And no, Yohn and I didn't do anything romantic this year. I bought him a new pair of headphones and he bought me the movie Secretariat because that's what we like.

How fun!
I am loving the bears and their outfits. My daughter is 17 but would go nuts over the pink bear with the roller skates. LOL!

Have a great day.

Awww, what a neat thing! I love Build a Bears! (I'm sill a kid at heart) What a fun outing, thanks for sharing :)

Your photographs are very good. You have such a good eye for what makes a good photo.

In answer to your question, yes, I did get a new camera last summer, but I wanted a small point and shoot for my purse. I'm thinking ahead to the wedding in June. I wanted a small camera to carry to showers and the wedding.

No, Jennifer didn't buy me a new box of candy. I guess she thought I didn't need it anyway...

Wait a second... have we been reading each other's blogs for over a year now? Cause if I remember correctly, you took pictures in that same spot last year. I remember, cause there was a pole coming out of the back of Elisha's head! LOL!

I love your traditions and this one is one of my favorites.

Also, Bethany's boots are awesome!

Also also ... I deleted my blog. :( I decided I had enough of James reading my stuff and knowing what was going on, so I deleted it along with my twitter. But.... I have a new one. One that he has no idea about and plan to keep it that way for as long as possible! YAY. You can read it at

Yay! My own .com! :)
