Our 2011 Summer Vacation - Part One

I know most of these pictures you might have already seen in a previous 365 post, but bear with me as I like to have pictures when I'm sharing my stories, it's just how I am :)

This year for vacation we rented a slightly smaller car to save a few $$$. They gave us this Kia Sol, which I wasn't sure about to begin with, but the kids loved it from the start. It actually fit our family perfectly and got great gas mileage. We saved a lot of money on gas alone.

We rented the car on Saturday, got it all packed up and left right after church on Sunday. After about 6 hours on the road, several bathrooms breaks, and a dinner break, we arrived at our hotel. Bethany likes to take a bath at every hotel room we stay at. I guess that's better than her previous obsession of having to use every bathroom we stopped at no matter where we were, including porta potties!

On day two our travels continue. Last year we drove through Weiser, ID where I lived until I turned 12. We ate at a place called Jeb's corner and this year the kids requested that we do it again. It adds about a half an hour to our drive, not including the eating time or the sightseeing through the town, but we enjoyed it and it might just become a yearly tradition.

See the brick walls? That was the original building and it used to be called the Bungalo. When I was about eight they added the outside eating area as it used to be one of those places where you parked and ordered your food and they brought it out to you. They actually have the original speakers outside and you can still order from your car.

It's been a while since I had curly fries!

My girl, being her crazy, fun self!

After Weiser it's over the bridge and into Oregon, with only two more hours to go until home.

And there it is, the road I lived on until I married Yohn. Elisha actually requested this picture as he says he wants to remember what that last second looks like before we get there.

This year I plan on posting all of my vacation and not skipping all over the place with it, so be prepared! :)

I think that is great to document your whole vacation. This is your memory book online. So fun. Love that car. So cute. My kids have to use the restroom everywhere too. Drives this germaphobe crazy. LOL That looks like one long dirt road.

Fun photos! You're family is adorable. And sorry for laughing at your daughter's obsessive bathroom habits, but it was cute.

We're headed up to Idaho this weekend for my husband's 20th reunion. :)

Yay for vacations! It's fun to visit the old stomping grounds, huh? For me it's just a hop skip and a jump, so I can't imagine being so far away from where I grew up.

Also, thank you for still visiting my blog even though I'm such a lazy friend.
