Photo Challenge ~ Flowers

Photobucket

The Flip Flop Farm Girl has some great prizes to giveaway this week (and next, the contest runs until August 24th) and all you have to do is enter your favorite photo of a flower. Here's mine:

I know I posted this last week but I really like it. It actually tells me it's waiting for a scripture to be added, so don't be surprised if I post it with a scripture for Scripture and a Snapshot in a few weeks. :)

My Week in Review ~ Project 365

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Slipping in a little late here, but at least I made it, eh? Now before you scroll down I just want to warn you that the theme for the week gets a little, well, monotonous. But it's a cute monotonous!

Sunday, August 7th

We found this little guy behind our church office. We estimate he was about 4 weeks old when we found him. His name is now Lynx. We did find out he had a mama still but not sure how he got away from her or what happened that left him by himself all day.

Monday, August 8th

Can you tell we are slightly excited to have a new family member?

Tuesday, August 9th

You might say we are slightly smitten!

Wednesday, August 10th

I know, I know, you wanted more pictures of Lynx but you get Spaghetti sauce instead. That's what I made for our post kid's camp meeting tonight.

Thursday, August 11th

Did you watch Wipe Out tonight? If so, you probably saw one of our church members on the show. A bunch of us went to a restaurant to watch the airing of it. Too bad he didn't make it out of the second round, but we had a lot of fun anyways.

Friday, August 12th

This is how Lynx spends much of his time, asleep in someone's arms. He's gonna be one spoiled kitty kat.

Saturday, August 13th

Our annual trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The kids earn tickets for free through their Read to Succeed program. This year they got to ride the elephant. Bethany says it was a blast. Elisha said it was too boney and high and he would not ever do it again unless it had a comfortable saddle. Yohn agrees with Elisha, except for the high part, but said it was a great experience.

That's it for my week! Hope yours was blessed as well!

My Week in Review ~ Project 365

Sunday ~ July 24th

We're getting things ready for Kid's Camp this week. This is Bethany's first year, so she needed a new sleeping bag and flashlight. And our little dog chewed a huge hole in our air mattress so Yohn and I needed a new one of those too.

Monday, July 25th

Koda at "naptime".

Tuesday, July 26th

I forgot to take a picture today, so you get a picture of the kids' VBS projects from last week that hang on our fridge.

Wednesday, July 27th

We went shopping for the food for Kid's Camp and the back of our SUV was packed full. But once again I forgot to take a picture, so instead I snapped a pic of Elisha sleeping on the top bunk. Without a sheet apparently although I know I put one on there!

Thursday, July 28th

Mmmmmm.... Me likey.

Friday, July 29th

*Sigh* A new obsession.

Saturday, July 30th

Dinner tonight. Oh my word. Lots of yumminess!

Click It Up a Notch ~ July Contest

This is my favorite photo for July. And to think I took it from the car window on the way home from our recent family vacation. The sun was just radiating off of the clouds and I knew I wanted the picture, but never expected it to turn out this good. :)

I Heart Faces ~ Water

I took this picture during our visit to the Columbia River a few weeks back. The kids had a blast playing in the water in the 90 something degree heat.

My Week in Review ~ Project 365

NapTime MomTog Project 365

Hi all! I missed you last week because Yohn and I were out of town celebrating our 13th anniversary. So here I am back this week with two week's worth of pictures.

Sunday ~ April 3rd

Due to a rain out the Saturday before all games were re-scheduled to Sunday. Since Yohn and I have too much commitment on Sunday to be able to get Elisha to his game his coach picked him up. Of course he got a great hit to the outfield and an out on a steal while playing third resulting in a game ball. Cuz' you know kids always seem to do their utmost best a sports when moms and dads aren't there.

Monday ~ April 4th

Happy 13th Anniversary to Yohn and Me! I got a dozen white roses. He chose white he says my white jacket and sunglasses look good on me and thought he'd keep the "theme" going.

Tuesday ~ April 5th

One of the preschool parents has started a new Zumba fitness class once a week that the kids absolutely love.

Wednesday ~ April 6th

The older kids were trying to make a human pyramid. They almost succeeded, but as the last one was climbing to the top, Joseph went tumbling down!

Thursday ~ April 7th

You may have to click on this picture to enlarge it, but Bethany's game was hailed out. Yep, I said hail. We knew a storm was coming but I don't think any of us expected the sudden wind, dropped temperatures and hail that came upon us. I was in the score-keepers box but unfortunately I wasn't really safe because the wind was blowing right at me. (More of this game and all the others on this 365 to come in a future Baseball/Softball Chronicles post).

Friday ~ April 8th

Our first night away in Carmel. (More of this weekend to come in a future post)

Saturday ~ April 9th

Today we did a lot of beach and trail walking and then later enjoyed scenic 17 Mile Drive.

Sunday ~ April 10th

We visited the Monterey Aquarium today. There was a lot of beauty to behold, but can I just say I think the price was a bit steep.

Monday ~ April 11th

You'd think being away from my kids for the whole weekend I'd have had a picture of them or something but no, instead I have a picture of the first poppy of the Spring in bloom.

Tuesday ~ April 12th

Look who's Hero of the Game!

Wednesday ~ April 13th

They posted Bethany's hero of the game night on the Cubs website!

Thursday ~ April 14th

I split score-keeping responsibilities with another mom since we both had two kids playing at the same time and didn't want to miss out.

Friday ~ April 15th

And she scores!

Saturday ~ April 16th

We went on a two family outing and rented paddle boats! (More to come on this too, but this post may have to wait for next week)

Thanks Sara and Sarah for hosting this project and allowing us to link up and share in the fun with others!

They Are His

I don't know about you, but I like knowing that the birds and the insects even belong to God. How much more so does He think about us!

As the Showers Upon the Grass

I know I just posted this picture in my 365 Project but I found this scripture and it just seemed to fit. May God's Word fall on us "as the showers upon the grass."

Project 365 (#356 - #362)

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday ~ #356/365

They begged to just watch one more episode of the Flintstones before going to bed but just couldn't make it through.

Monday ~ #357/365

Sometimes he's the best helper for dinner preparations.

Tuesday ~ #358/365

She lost another tooth! You almost can't tell by the picture, but her permanent tooth was pushing it up at an odd angle. Her brother also has the same exact tooth to get out that has ended up behind his permanent tooth. So made a contest out of it. It only took a week before we had a winner. Can you tell she was excited?

Wednesday ~ #359/365

I love this kid's eyes but next time methinks we should be outdoors and well maybe I won't zoom in as much.

Thursday ~ #360/365

No camera, no picture. But we did go out to eat at the Spaghetti Factory with friends and the kids did do one of these fun pages while waiting for the food.

Friday ~ #361/365

Since Yohn and I are never able to help at field prep day for Elisha and Bethany's baseball/softball league and since it is mandatory, we volunteered to do some work tonight. The kids both had a scrimmage game so we were there and available. I raked up several piles of these leaves totalling 4 1/2 bags worth and Yohn filled the other half with trash from around the complex. See that large bag in the background, that's one of ours. Nobody can accuse us of not doing our share :) Boy were my very under-used muscles tired.

Saturday ~ #362/365

Yohn finally was able to get hats with the kids' teams on them. They have been repeatedly asking when he was gonna do it and finally they allowed us to purchase them with the league because all the kids were finished getting them for their uniforms. We waited because they are way cheaper to buy them through the league than at the store.

Whew! A busy, busy week we had with a practice almost every day. The kids are lovin' it though! And I have almost done an entire year of the 365! Only three more days to go! Thanks Sara for hosting the fun!
