NapTime MomTog Project 365

Sunday ~ June 12th

Went to a friend's challenger baseball game. Nathaniel did a great job hitting the ball and running the bases. He has improved so much! Yay! Nathaniel!

Monday ~ June 13th

It's BBQ time!

Tuesday ~ June 14th

When it's hot, take the games outside, I always say. :)

Wednesday ~ June 15th

We went to watch baptism at church. Yohn was helping baptize the kids. Unfortunately it was too dark to get a picture so here's this one of Elisha waiting for it to start.

Thursday ~ June 16th

Ha! Ha! This happens to be the only picture I took today. It's for the background of the intro on Elisha's baseball slideshow.

Friday ~ June 17th

Stilling working on that slideshow for Saturday morning. I'm such a procrastinator. See the grass backgrounds on #3 and #4? It turned out looking so good!

Saturday ~ June 18th

Elisha won a signed ball by Ray Fosse! One of his coaches personally knows him. Our show no emotions boy was excited to get it but didn't really show it while we were there. I hope his coaches know he really did like it. :)

Bethany's team also had their team party today, so we were running from one place to the next. Can you guess what kind of party they had?

That's it for this week! This is me, signing off....... :0)

Baseball/Softball Chronicles ~ May 23rd - 28th

Tuesday, May 24th

The A's vs. The Dodgers

(The real game)

We finally had an official game against the Dodgers and were seriously expecting a blow out. But they surprised us. Something about playoff positions, I'm not sure, but they basically let us win. They started the bottom of their line up and let the out fielders play the in field the whole game. I was busy trying to keep score in Elisha's coach's book (we weren't home team, but his coach likes a separate book kept to see how each boy is doing at bat) so this is the only shot I got of Elisha. He struggled at bat tonight but played well at third.

Final Score: A's 18, Dodgers 2

Wednesday, May 25th

The Cubs vs. The Rays

Last game of the season, and wouldn't you know it, both of my kids played at the exact same time. And not only that but Bethany's team played against the infamous Rays who only lost one game the whole season up to this point. And guess who plays for the Rays?

My niece Harmony!

This is how she is a lot at the ball fields. Some days I'm surprised her coaches have as much patience as they do, LOL!

In order to explain the last play of the game I needed to show you this picture. It's the bottom of the sixth (final inning) the Rays are down by one with two outs. We're dyin' for a win, for two reasons: 1) It's the Rays, everyone wants to beat them (for various reasons we just won't discuss though) and 2) we haven't had a win in a while and it would be a great way to end the season since we already knew we didn't make play-offs.

Okay back to the picture. See the ball? See Bethany on the right? Yeah, I didn't think she was paying any mind to the game, cuz' she was just standin' there with her hand in her pocket sorta spacing out. But then the pitcher missed the ball and she snapped to life. Seriously I must have taken this picture just a second before, because her whole body jerked and she smiled all big and snatched up the ball....

...then she threw it like this to first base, BARELY getting it there to get the third out! I couldn't believe it! I also couldn't believe that I caught it on camera. I was just snapping at whatever not even looking.

Finals Score: Cubs 9, Rays 8

Yay!

And since it was the final game we took a few pictures...

... and they get their league pins.

Bethany really loved her coaches this year, can you tell?

Ahhh... so sad it is all over!

The A's vs. The Yankees

Since I was running back and forth, and since I knew this boy's team made playoffs (although we really wonder how) I only got a few pics of his game since I spent most of the time at Bethany's field. He hit a foul ball and was walked. Played center and right field and had a decent game so I heard.

I knew it's pretty obvious this boy made it to second but I just wanted to show ya how he is so good at shifting to the ball when he backs up in the out field. He played mostly outfield all year, but his coach told him countless times he was the best outfielder because he paid attention and was always rotating to the ball.

Elisha receiving his league pin.

Final Score: A's 8, Yankees 10

All in all my kids had a great season and progressed a lot. We enjoyed their coaches this year and only had a few minor complaints, mostly about a few of the boys on Elisha's team. Up next... playoffs posts! :)

Baseball/Softball Chronicles ~ May 16th - 21st

Tuesday, May 17th

Elisha's team had a game scheduled against the Dodgers but they got rained out. Here we go again!

Wednesday, May 18th

The Cubs vs. The Angels

I unfortunately had snack shack duty and could not see her game. And wouldn't you know it? She turns around and hits a triple without either me or her dad in attendance. Why do you do these things to us kid?

Final Score: Cubs 12, Angels 20

Friday, May 20th

The A's vs. The Dodgers

Yep, you guessed it this was the re-scheduled game. Except there was some major miscomunication between both team coaches and the office because according to them we were supposed to play on Thursday night and so we had no umpire. I'd like to know how both teams could show up on the wrong night though. It really made no sense.

They played a scrimmage game anyways and the boys had a lot of fun. Elisha was walked twice, played the outfield for two innings....

...played short stop one inning...

...backed up third on a steal during that inning....

and covered third base during one inning too.

We didn't keep score because it didn't count but if we had it would have been a lot of nothing to a lot of something and not in the A's favor.

Saturday ~ May 21st

The Cubs vs. The Blue Jays

For some reason I didn't take as many pictures today, but the two I got of my Bethany look great!

She did well at bat, hitting off the kid pitcher once and coming around home twice. Go Bethany!

This game was an upset though because we lost on a balk. Hello Mr. Umpire this is 8 and unders! They don't call balks until 10 and unders. Thanks for losing the game for us we appreciate it.... uh, NOT!

Final Score: Cubs 12, Angels 13 (booooo umpire!!!! boo!!!!)

The A's vs. The Cardinals

I actually wanted a good pic of his hands but the sun was working against me.

Guess who got an awesome hit today?!!!! Yep, he hit it straight into center field resulting in a double and an RBI. Soooo exciting to see him do that. Keep up that confidence E!

It was close until the end when the Cards pulled away.

Final Score: A's 8, Cardinals 10

I had to throw in this sweet picture of Bethany and her friend. They were teammates for the last two years but this year ended up on different teams. Their brothers were playing against each other and they ran through the empty field nearby picking wildflowers (weeds) and catching ladybugs.

Baseball/Softball Chronicles ~ May 9th - 14th

Wednesday ~ May 11th

The Cubs vs. The Orioles

I was assisting in the scorekeeper box with a friend whose daughter played on the same team as Bethany the two years before this one. More or less we just talked a lot and I didn't really assist, but pictures from the scorekeeper's box are not always the easiest. I know I posted this picture on my 365 a few weeks back but I edited it just to make it different :)

Sadly, neither one of our daughter's got a hit on this night (although we had both been saying how much more consistent this season, ironic isn't it) and the Orioles went on to do what they do best.

Final Score: Cubs 7, Orioles 10

Thursday, May 12th

The A's vs. The WhiteSox

We got some great fans in the bleachers tonight!

The sun was perfect for getting some batting pictures in.

Walked again, but man is he getting good at his base stealing.

A little chit chat with the coach during a time out.

And of course, Bethany is always good for some quality entertainment!

This was her re-enactment of her slow motion "fall".

I climbed the fence for this great view of the team discussion after the game.

Final Score: A's 7, White Sox 5

Yay! They really do look like a playoff team!

The kids had Open House tonight too so after the game we zoomed back to the school to see the kids' class and all their fun work. I was busy chatting with other parents and this is the only picture I took!

Saturday, May 14th

The A's vs. The Giants

Waiting for his turn at bat.

Not sure why I didn't get more pictures this game but it was a great one! They played the second place team and won!

Final Score: A's 6, Giants 5

The Cubs vs. The Marlins

I think I posted this picture before too. Bethany played on the same team as this little girl two years ago and she also goes to our church so we see her often. It's fun when the kids play against kids they know. They always request pictures too.

This is how she measures the base. It cracks us up every time.

I guess I wasn't really in a picture taking mood on this particular day. While Elisha's team had a great win Bethany's lost to a team that hadn't gotten a win all season long. Oh well, I guess they had to win at some point.

Final Score: Cubs 4, Marlins 7
