Summer Highlights Part 1

I realize that another summer has come and gone, but I wanted to add a few posts of our awesome summer memories on the ole' blog. So without futher adieu... our summer highlights part one.

We had an awesome night of celebrating 30 years of marriage with this much loved couple!

We watched the Heat win the championship this year! Elisha was so excited, however, he was sad for Kevin Durant and James Harden, who he decided he liked a whole lot as well.

Not all of us followed every minute of the game. Bethany could care less who won or lost and so I helped to keep her entertained while the boys were enthralled in the tv.

Shortly after the finals Elisha discovered he loved basketball cards and visited a card shop for the first time. Here's a purchase he made with his own money. He and I have been trading cards, since I used to collect them before he was born. So I have the old good player's cards and he has the new ones. It has made for some fun times and great bonding between us.

The kids decided to make a public confession of their faith in Jesus by being water baptized.

As you can see, their dad got to be a part of the process!

Sooo proud of these two!

More to come...

Happy Number Nine!

Someone had a birthday today!

She's growing up sooo fast! I can't believe she's halfway to being a "legal" adult.

This is Bethany in her classroom this afternoon with her cupcake cake. I actually edited this picture but Picaso is having an issue with saving it.

Here's our girl after our dinner at Fuddrucker's. She got a free birthday meal, a free cookie that comes with the kids meal, an ice cream cone from grandma and the guy at the dessert counter gave her a brownie too, just because it was her birthday. After the cupcakes and the ice cream I asked her to please wait until tomorrow for the cookie and brownie!

Bethany,

What can I say my sweet girl, you are growing up so fast. I feel that if I blink your going to be on your way out the door, all grown up and chasing your dreams. You are a bright spot in our lives Baby Girl! Don't stop being you and don't let anyone tell you that who you are is not okay. God created you with a mighty purpose and I love getting glimpses of who you're becoming every now and then.

My big hearted kid, you never cease to bless those around you! Let God lead you and as you grow in Him and as you do I pray that you will continue to be a blessing to those many, many others you will meet and encounter along the way.

All our love,

Mom and Dad

It's Official...

...we have a 5th grader...

...and a 4th grader!

I can't believe the first day of school was today. Summer, oh summer! Why did you have to pass us by so quickly? We'll miss you, dear summer, until we meet again next year.

There's a birthday just around the corner too.

Our 4th grader will be officially turning 9 on Wednesday. Oy! as if her being in the upstairs classroom with her brother wan't enough!
