My Week in Review ~ Project 365

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

This week's 365 unintentionally ended up with a theme too, and that theme is very summer appropriate! WET! With a few of Lynx thrown in for good measure (cuz' I know you'd cry if I didn't share him again this week).

Sunday, August 14th

Once a year our children's church does what they call Aqua Blast! for the kids in which they get wet, wet, wet! and have a blast doing it.

Monday, August 15th

The kids started swimming lessons today. I barely squeaked it in before they start school, but we did it. I wish we could have done them sooner since they did a lot of water activities this summer, but oh well.

Tuesday, August 16th

I bought a Groupon for this Ladybug land and wanted to use it for Bethany's birthday. Well it came today and I guess I wasn't paying attention when I ordered it early that the lady bug larvae came with it. So even though her birthday is still two weeks away she got this today. She loved it!

Wednesday, August 17th

In an attempt to beat the mid-August heat we put a sprinkler on the trampoline and let the kids have at it. They had sooo much fun.

Thursday, August 18th

This is Lynx's favorite toy, and also his favorite place to fall asleep! Silly kitty!

Friday, August 19th

He was playing when I took this picture and I could not get him to go to sleep for the night.

Saturday, August 20th

We visited one of the church's, where our kids did VBS this summer, for a car show. They had their water slide up and going, and even though it was a cool evening, Bethany thoroughly enjoyed herself.

That's it for me! Over and out!

Our 2011 Oregon Vacation ~ Part 6

You know you're visiting the country when...

...every evening you can spend time playing with the dogs in wide open fields.

...a common stock tank becomes a place to cool off in!

...and your daddy will join right in. :)

And while in there you'll have a grand ole' time dunking each other,

or floating around in a teeny, tiny inner tube.

And then later you'll fall asleep on the floor in exhaustion, even though the couch is wide open and available.

These are the summer vacation days and the memories my kids will one day remember. Laughing, playing hard, and falling asleep wherever they found a place to rest.

Photo Challenge ~ Flowers

Photobucket

The Flip Flop Farm Girl has some great prizes to giveaway this week (and next, the contest runs until August 24th) and all you have to do is enter your favorite photo of a flower. Here's mine:

I know I posted this last week but I really like it. It actually tells me it's waiting for a scripture to be added, so don't be surprised if I post it with a scripture for Scripture and a Snapshot in a few weeks. :)

My Week in Review ~ Project 365

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Slipping in a little late here, but at least I made it, eh? Now before you scroll down I just want to warn you that the theme for the week gets a little, well, monotonous. But it's a cute monotonous!

Sunday, August 7th

We found this little guy behind our church office. We estimate he was about 4 weeks old when we found him. His name is now Lynx. We did find out he had a mama still but not sure how he got away from her or what happened that left him by himself all day.

Monday, August 8th

Can you tell we are slightly excited to have a new family member?

Tuesday, August 9th

You might say we are slightly smitten!

Wednesday, August 10th

I know, I know, you wanted more pictures of Lynx but you get Spaghetti sauce instead. That's what I made for our post kid's camp meeting tonight.

Thursday, August 11th

Did you watch Wipe Out tonight? If so, you probably saw one of our church members on the show. A bunch of us went to a restaurant to watch the airing of it. Too bad he didn't make it out of the second round, but we had a lot of fun anyways.

Friday, August 12th

This is how Lynx spends much of his time, asleep in someone's arms. He's gonna be one spoiled kitty kat.

Saturday, August 13th

Our annual trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The kids earn tickets for free through their Read to Succeed program. This year they got to ride the elephant. Bethany says it was a blast. Elisha said it was too boney and high and he would not ever do it again unless it had a comfortable saddle. Yohn agrees with Elisha, except for the high part, but said it was a great experience.

That's it for my week! Hope yours was blessed as well!

Our 2011 Oregon Vacation ~ Part 5

What does one do when one is invited to a wedding reception for family friends that they really don't know but whose parents would really like them to come anyways so they can show off the grandkids. Well, one might photograph things like:

The peak of Mt. Harris

The "I" on the side of the mountain for Imbler High School

The goose the kids accidentally chased and made tumble end over end down the side of a hill.

Some beautiful flowers

A nice photo of a lovely couple

A tiny, empty bird egg shell in the hand of her youngest

Or some snail shells found by her oldest

or some random pics of the kids by the bass ponds

or of them making new friends

or some more beautiful flowers!

Look What We Found!

We found him outside of our church office yesterday afternoon. We estimate he is around 4 weeks old as he is just walking (toddling) around and only has his canine teeth. He only eats from a bottle. His name is Lynx.

Today we heard another kitten mewing under the church office but could not lure it out. We're not sure at this point if mama is around and Lynx simply wandered out and got lost while she was away or if something happened to mom.

My Week in Review ~ Project 365

Sunday, July 31st

I warned him to stay on the path, but he just had to take his bike "off road". Now both of his tires are filled with these and we have to replace the tubes.

Monday, August 5th

1st day of kid's camp. We stop off on the way up for a dip in this free pool. The kids have a blast here.

Tuesday, August 2nd

We were visited by a mama deer and her baby at the park we visited today. They wanted us to feed them, but we gave them a firm no and were just content to watch them run around.

Wednesday, August 3rd

The hike to the falls we beautiful! It's the first time I've done the hike in the five years we have been going to this particular spot for camp. It was Bethany's first year at camp and Elisha's second, but he didn't hike last year, so all three of us experienced the beauty of it for the first time together. My crazy husband and daughter took a dip in that ice cold water! My son just got his feet wet. Me, I just took pictures. :)

Thursday, August 4th

On our way home we stop at yet another pool, so 1) we break up the trip and the four hours in the car is not as long and 2) because there are no showers where we are and this way the kids come home smelling like chlorine instead of sweat. :)

Friday, August 5th

Home all day doing nothing but relaxing and catching up on blog reading.

Saturday, August 6th

Today was a mix of chores, wrapping up kid's camp information, preparing for Sunday morning, reading with my girl and playing video games with my boy.
