Christmas Vacation - Legoland Part 1

Legoland is about an hour's drive from Disneyland, so if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend taking a day (or two) and heading that way. Trust me you won't regret it. And they are constantly giving out free tickets for free child's amission with the purchase of an adult ticket. If you look, or ask around, you're sure to find one.
This Lego family is actually out in the parking lot ready to greet you before you even get to the park gates. From a distance they look like real people just getting out of their Volvo. Anyone know why Lego is so big on the Volvo? They have special parking just for Volvo owers, but we never did figure out why.

This guy on stilts met us just inside the gate. The kids are unfortunately looking at the photographer and not me and they were too excited to get them to take another picture, but I'm still glad for what I got.

Bethany looking up at a giraffe made of Duplo legos. Pretty cool, huh? Just wait it gets better.

Bob the Builder
Can they build it? Yes, Lego can!

Holy Lego bricks Batman!
(Okay that was probably the lamest joke you've heard, I know)

I didn't know Bionicle was Lego too, but they were everywhere.

Once again Elisha got very photogenic.

Not to be outdone by her brother, Bethany asks for a photo with a Lego girl. Of course it had to be a girl because every toy Bethany owns is a girl, so I'm sure she was on the lookout for this one.
This was a fun ride for the kids. It went around in circles and you got to steer it in and out. The object was to avoid getting hit by the water as we, the onlookers, pressed the buttons to try to soak them down. Well, I didn't really try because while it was Southern California it was still not such a hot day.

This guy overlooks the gate for this ride:

I tried to get a picture of the girls and Grandpa Gene too but I snapped the picture too soon. It really is hard to capture a picture of people on a fast moving roller coaster, ya know.

You've probably seen this slide at a carnival but the best part of it was it didn't cost per ride. The kids probably would have went down it a few more times if we had more time.

Part of the scenery in the midevil section of Legoland.

Too bad we really couldn't lock them in there when they were misbehaving!

Bethany is trying her best "king" face, that's why she looks so serious.
Up next more Legoland: a different kind of ride, riding lego horses and miniland!

LegoLand looks neat! I can tell you why Volvo is so important at LegoLand. Volvo and LegoLand have teamed up to promote safe driving. They have set up 2 little driving schools in Legoland. One is to target 3-5 year olds and the other is for 6-13 year olds. They want to start teaching kids about driving and traffic safety at an earlier age and are hoping that the lessons they learn will stick with them:) They teach the kids about driving in little cars that look like Legos!

Wow! They really made all that stuff out of legos? That's so cool. And I'm with Bethany... I would try to find the girl lego statue too!

Oh, that looks like so much fun! What a cool place. It looks like your kids had a great time. My kiddos are a little young yet for Legos. They have Mega Blocks.
